Recently, two posters from Raj Kapoor‘s popular movies, Bawara (1951) and Mera Naam Joker (1970) sold at record prices in an online auction called Raj Kapoor @100.
This auction celebrated the 100th birthday of the famous actor and filmmaker.
A rare Ukrainian poster of Bawara, considered worth Rs. 40,000-60,000, sold for an impressive Rs. 5.8 lakhs!
This price is reportedly even higher than past sales of Amitabh Bachchan’s movie posters.
The poster received 48 bids, showing the continued popularity of the movie and Raj Kapoor.
The high sales show how much people still love Raj Kapoor’s work and the increasing interest in old movie memorabilia in India.
